Stewart H. Greenfield is Chairman and co-founder of Alternative Investment Group.

Stewart co-founded Oak Investment Partners in 1978, and was Chairman and General Partner of the Oak venture funds from 1974 to1995. He was also founder of Oak Leaf Partners, a fund of hedge funds for General Partners of Oak Investment Partners, and served as an advisor to two other funds of hedge funds prior to co-founding Alternative Investments.

Prior to this, he held several senior positions at IBM and was Vice President and General Partner of the Sprout Venture Funds at DLJ from 1971 to 1974.

Stewart holds a B.A. from St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD, and served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Visitors and a member of the Executive Committee of St. John’s College (Annapolis and Santa Fe), and as director of CommonFund Capital Group. He is a trustee emeritus of The Nature Conservancy (CT) and is actively involved in tropical rainforest preservation in Latin America. He serves on the board of the Santa Fe Institute, St. John's College,  and the Opera Orchestra of New York.  Stewart is on the advisory board of ConnCan, which has demonstrated tremendous improvements in educating minority students in Connecticut, and an environmental policy committee of the NRDC.
